Our first book will be taken from the Gulf Coast Reads: on the same page.

Gulf Coast Reads: On the Same Page is a one book, one community initiative happening during the month of October. This year, the greater Houston and surrounding communities will be reading the book         

The Dog Stars by Peter Heller.

A pilot survives a flu that kills everyone he knows. When a random transmission beams through his radio, the voice ignites a hope deep inside him. He follows the static voice on the radio, but what he encounters is both better and worse than anything he could have hoped for.

You will need to have an email address to post.

We’ll begin with non-spoiler alert posts from 10/01 – 10/04, and discuss plot developments on the following schedule:

Week of 10/07: Book One, Chapters 1-6
Week of 10/14: Book Two, Chapters 1-2
Week of 10/21: Book Two, Chapters 3-4

Week of 10/28: Book Three, Chapters 1-3

And because this is an online book club, you can express your feelings about the book however you choose — a written review, pictures, poems, letters or just chat.  It’s all up to you!
